変わらないもの：Something Unchanging
ほとんどの人は、ノーベル賞に値するような仕事をしてはいないのに、やたらに忙しいです。
So many people around me look too hectic though their works don’t look to be worthy of a Nobel Prize at all.
ヨッシーが、「便利になれば、ゆとりが生まれる」神話が間違っていると実感したきっかけは、「携帯電話の普及」時期でした。
It was the time of starting popularization of mobile phones when Yoshy realized a myth was wrong. The myth had said, “Convenience would product enough time to enjoy our lives.”
私は携帯を持ちません。お客さまにご不便をおかけして申し訳ないのですが…。
Yoshy hasn’t ever had my mobile phone. I’m sorry to have kept my customers feeling inconvenient, though.
思いやりを大切にしたいため、逆説的ですが、「いいね：クリック」でも、返信しなくては…のツイッタ―、フェイスブックは、7月末に「中止宣言：今後は、イーメールのみに！」をしました。
Yoshy want to keep cherishing thoughtfulness to others, which made me, being paradoxically, quit using Twitter and Face-book except using only e-mail at the end of July; because I had to reply to each twitter or face-book.
パソコンは便利です。でも、所詮は文房具です。使う私が主人です。
PC is really convenient, but is one of stationery after all. Its master is ME.
今後も、「便箋に筆字」を大切にしてゆきます。
Yoshy will keep holding “letter-pad with brush-pen” more valuable than developing digital stationery.
メタセコイアと、火打山：「急がない象徴の一つ」として、ご紹介しています。
Let me introduce a dawn redwood: metasequoias and Mt. Hiuchi as “the symbol of something that won’t make haste at all”.
メタセコイアは、新生代第三紀から変化していないそうです。つまり、6,430万年～180万年前から「命のリレー」を繰り返している「生きた化石」と呼ばれていることは有名です。
They say the shape of a dawn redwood has never changed since Tertiary of Cenozoic era; so to speak, it is said to be “a living fossil”; because it has been repeating “relaying of its life” for about between 6.43 million and 1.8 million years.
「相変わらずですね。」の挨拶を大切にしたいです。
Yoshy would like to esteem this greeting to others, “You haven’t changed!”
「ほどほどに。」、「良い加減に。」、「相変わらず。」…の日本人の知恵を化石にはしたくないものです。
“Do nothing to excess, shall we?”, “How do you feel?”, “You haven’t changed at all” etc.
