変化は進歩、発展でしょうか？
Does changing mean advance or development?
例えば、新幹線は本当に必要なのでしょうか？
E.g. do we really need bullet-trains in Japan?
日本中の名物駅弁を居ながらにして食べられることが進歩発展でしょうか？
Does it mean advance or development for us to be able to eat many well-known train-lunches while staying in the same place?
土木工事が目立ち、「山河」の形さえ変わってゆくご時勢です。
We can easily find construction-sites here and there; even the shape of “mountains and rivers” is changing day by day, which might be called a sigh of the times.
ふと、壁のカレンダーを見ました。
Yoshy caught sight of a calendar on a wall by chance.
(株)北越書館さんのカレンダーです。
It was the calendar made by Hokuetsu-Shokan Co. Ltd.
「格言」、「干支」や「農事暦」まであります。
There is not only “a proverb”, but also “Kan-Shi, Oriental zodiac” and “farming calendar” on it.
半世紀以上のお付き合いですが、この割り付けは、全く変わっていないと思います。
Shihoya Bookstore has been dealing with them for over half century; Yoshy thinks this layout hasn’t changed at all.
日本も会社も、そして人も「変わらない何か」を持ち続けることって、「信用、財産」ではないでしょうか？
Does it mean “holding trust or fortune” for Japan, companies and each person to keep holding “something unchanging or unchanged”, doesn’t it?
LLシホヤ新井教室、M-PECの中で、「頑固おやじ」になれたら本望です。
If I could be “a stubborn big-buddy” in running both LL Shihoya Arai School and Myoko Powerful English Club (M-PEC) someday, I’d sure be satisfied with me.
