降ったり晴れたり：Days of alternate snow and sunshine
去年の今頃は、ゲートボール場とLLシホヤ新井教室の間にある「桜並木」はすっぽり雪で埋まっていました。
This time last year, “Cherry-tree Avenue” between the gate-ball square and LL Shihoya Arai School was fully covered with snow.
3月になるまで油断できませんが、雪下ろしの人はまばらです。
Though we can’t relax our guard against sudden snow-falling, very few careful people are removing snow on their roofs.
3枚の青空の写真は、エリーと散歩の折の、1月16日(水)の撮影です。残りは、18日(金)です。
These three pictures under blue sky were taken during walking with Erie on Wednesday, January 16th. The rest ones were done on Friday, 18th.
2枚目の写真には、左から、「ほぼ完成した新市民体育館」、「市民プール」、築約40年の「市民体育館」と「公民館」が見えます。
In the second picture, from the left, you can see “almost completed Civic Gymnasium”, “Civic Swimming-pool”, “present Civic Gymnasium” and “Public Hall”; the latter two were built about 40 years ago.
3枚目の奥には、30年以上経った「市民スキー場のスロープ」が見えます。今はだれも使っていません。
You can see “a slope of Civic Skiing Area” at the back of the third picture. No one has used it for a long time.
変わらないのは、妙高山(2,454 m)と四季の変化と、ヨッシーの頑固な心意気(???) だけかも知れません。
Hum… Maybe things never-changed are Mt. Myoko (2,454 m), clearly changing four seasons and Yoshy’s stubborn and fatuous spirit (???), aren’t they?
