新井中央小、新井北小からの秋景色：Autumn Scenes from Arai-chuo and Arai-kita ES
LLシホヤ新井教室西側の桜並木は葉がすっかり落ちました。
All the leaves of Cherry tree Avenue fell down. It is located on the west side of LL Shihoya Arai School.
緑の大木は松で、紅葉している木は椛(もみじ)です。
The green colored big tree is a pine tree. The red colored one is a maple tree.
11月27日(水)、Rと新井中央小と新井北小へ、主に「書き初め用紙」の配達に行きました。
On Wednesday, November 27th, Yoshy and R visited Arai-chuo and Arai-kita elementary schools to deliver mainly “some packs of paper for Shodo, handwriting with brush for the new year”.
新井中央小は新井地区の中心部に近いので、周辺は、家並みが混んでいます。
Arai-chuo ES is near the center of Arai *District, many houses are seen around it.

そこから高田方向に車で10分位の所に、新井北小があります。
Driving toward Takada by car for about ten minutes from there, you will reach Arai-kita ES.
栗原地区にありますので、30年ほど前でしょうか、…当時は栗原小の名前でした。
Arai-kita ES was once called Kurihara ES, maybe until 3 decades ago; because it stands in Kurihara district.

その周辺は米作地が多いので、妙高連山が良く見えます。
Rice-field spreading around there, we can see the range of Mt. Myoko very well.
最後の写真は、新井北小からの遠望：長岡方面で、米山(992.5 m)も見えました。
In this last picture, we could see Mt. Yone (992.5 m) from Arai-kita ES very far away.
江戸時代に北陸道が再整備された時には、米山麓の米山峠には関所が設置され、出雲崎や佐渡島に向かう旅客を取り締まっていたそうです。
When Hokuriku-do was redeveloped in Edo-era, a checking station was set up on the Yoneyama-path, where every traveler heading to Izumozaki, Sado-island, etc. was checked by samurai-officers, I heard.
