3月10日(月)朝、「二十四節季の一つ、啓蟄(3月6日)」過ぎというのに、又も30 cm程の降雪。
Monday morning, March 10th, though “Keichitsu: the day of March 6th when *wintering insects come out of *hibernation、which is one of the twenty-four divisions in the *old Japanese almanac” was already passed, we had about 30 cm of snow.

この程度の積雪なら「融雪スプリンクラー」稼働は不要なのですが、教室西口通路の雪を溶かすために1時間くらい稼働しました。
Though we need not move “sprinklers on the roof to melt such amount of snow at all, but I did for about one hour in order to melt snow on the west-doorway of LL Shihoya Arai School.

啓蟄の日、GAクラスのA君(小1)とエリーは大の仲良し。レッスンの一つは、「30までの数字の復習」でした。3個のサイコロを転がして、足し算をしました。例えば、出た目：3 + 6 + 5 = 14 を英語で言ってからスワット！
It was the day of Keichitsu. A boy, A, who is one of GA-class and 1st grader of elementary school is *chummy with Yoshy’s pet-dog, Erie very much. One of their activities was “the review of numbers to 30”. Rolling three kinds of *dice, e.g. they had to add *the numbers on the dice quickly like saying that three plus six plus five is fourteen, then swat the card written 14 on it!

A君の英語での足し算がとても上手なので、3月10日、PD (小6)たちにも試してみました。但し、加減乗除で。レッスン前の良い気分転換になりました。
Since A was so good at Addition in English that Yoshy had PD-class students (all are 6th grader of elementary school) try to do that activity. We brushed up not only addition but also Subtraction, Multiplication and Division, too. The short time before their usual lesson made them refreshed.
レッスン中、PDのA君からの質問：「AM (午前)って、何の略？」
A boy, A asked me “What does AM *stand for, Yoshy?”

AAクラス(英検2級レベル)以上のクラスで使っている英英辞典：「ホンビー著、ISED」で説明しました。
I showed this word, AM on “ISED, Idiomatic and Syntactic English Dictionary attributed to A. S. Hornby” to explain it. ISED is being used in the class of AA (Grade of Eiken 2nd) and above.
