第30回・上町歳の神：The 30th Anniversary of Revived Sai-no-Kami, Festival for Year’s Gods of Shinto

2014年(H.26) 1月12日(日)、2:30 pm～、LL教室西側の上町駐車場で、新生30回目の「歳の神」が実施されました。

The 30th revised “Sai-no-Kami” was held at Kan-machi Parking lot from 2:30 pm on Sunday, January 12th The lot is located next to LL Shihoya Arai School.

30年前、昭和60年(1985年) 1月15日がつい昨日のようです。

It seems like only yesterday that the first revived festival was done 30 years ago, in 1985 (Showa 60).

小学生20名くらいに、「鳥追いの歌」を歌いながら、開始をふれ回ってもらいました。

We had about twenty elementary school students walk around Kan-machi area to notice that beginning by singing the song of “Song of Driving Sparrows Away”.

大正15年(1926年)以来、60年ぶりに有志20名くらいが復活させたことを知る人が少なくなってきました。

Thirty years ago, about twenty old and young volunteers revived it after sixty years since 1926 (Taisho 15), which few people know nowadays.

当時の記録は皆無でしたので、私たちは、古老の方々から聞きかじりで、作法を学びました。ヨッシーが33歳の時…浦島太郎の気分です。

As there was next to no old records until then, some of us were all eras to old persons to learn the manners. When Yoshy was thirty-three years old then …I feel myself like Urashima Taro.

ここ20年くらいかな、いつの間にか歌われなくなってしまった、ヨッシーが作詞して、長谷部氏が節をつくった「鳥追いの歌」を以下、記録します。

Let me introduce and record “Song of Driving Sparrows Away”, which was used to be sung around two decades ago. It was wrote by Yoshy and composed by Mr. Osabe.

太郎どんの鳥と

(Tarodon no tori to) Toro’s sparrow and

次郎どんの鳥と

(Jiro don no tori to) Jiro’s one

頭をまるめ

(Atamawo marume)

Cropping their heads’ hair,

尻尾を切って

(Sippowo kitte)

Cutting their tails,

わんさをしたら

(Wansawo shitara)

If they ate ears of rice,

佐渡島

(Sadogashima)

They would be banished to Sado-island.

思い出がたくさん詰まっている「高橋模型店」

“Takahashi Hobby Shop” full of happy memories

■「高橋模型店」は、妙高市役所前にあります。

“Takahashi Hobby Shop” is located in front of Myoko City Hall.

■10年以上前に閉店しました。

It was shut up over a decade ago.

■このお店を知っている人は、40歳以上でしょうね。

Probably those who know this shop would be over 40s.

■模型飛行機、ラジコン自動車・飛行機、プラモデル自動車・木製東京タワー、真空管・ゲルマニウム・ラジオ組立てキット、マブチ・モーター・自動車…男の子たちが夢中になった商品が売られていました。

Model-planes, radio controlled model cars/planes, plastic models of cars, Tokyo Tower to be built-up with wood, sectional radio-kit with vacuum tubes/germanium, model cars with Mabuchi-motors, etc, which most boys in those days got crazy about.

■年中、男の子たちで大賑わいでした。

The shop was always crowded with boys all the year round.

■今、家の前に花のプランターがあります。

You can see flower-planters in front of it.

■今でも、ご主人がお住まいかしら？

I wonder if the master lives there or not.

■会えたら、なぜか、お礼を言いたいです。

If I could meet him, I’d like to say thanks to him.

■「3球スーパー・ラジオ」を買って、組立ましたが、音が出なくて、恐る恐る相談したら、ゆっくり、いっしょに作り直して下さったことを覚えています。

Yoshy remember I have once bought a “3 vacuum tubes-radio-kit”, trying setting up then it didn’t work; I visited him again to fix mine. Unexpectedly, he was kind enough to make the kit or fix it with me taking a long time.
